It started just as a rumor a couple of days ago, with the China gaming community pointing out that the Chinese domain for Guild Wars 2 was registered. Today, it was confirmed that the hit MMORPG will be heading to the world’s largest online gaming nation , with publisher Kongzhong clinching the deal. There is no scheduled release date or business model announced as of now. This marks one of the largest licensing transactions ever for a Western game in the Chinese market.
Developers' work has paid off as GW2 is highly anticipated in China, according to KongZhong CEO Wang Lei lei who further stated, "I believe Chinese game players will be impressed by Guild Wars 2 unique gameplay which will bring truly epic, cooperative gameplay back to the MMORPG genre."
