According to Tracey John, from MTV, who made a recent visit to gamestop believes Starcraft 2 is set to be released on June 2nd this year. This wouldn't be a first in which Gamestop allegedly announced a release date for a game. As stated by Tracey:

When I was visiting my local Gamestop yesterday, the cashier asked me if I wanted to pre-order any games. She handed me a list of titles, and "Starcraft 2" immediately caught my eye. It listed the release date as June 2. When I inquired if the date was correct, she casually replied, "Yeah," and seemed indifferent to my surprise.

Blizzard COO did mention the game was set to be released later this year. According to a Blizzard rep, the June 2nd date is not confirmed nor denied. As you all know, good games always somehow finds their way to get pushed back further and further bringing their hype to a new level.
